I do not see New York’s newest program. Clarkson University’s PA program was provisionally accredited in September of this year.
    Thank you.

The only ARC-PA accredited CUNY program is York College. You’ll find it at the end of the New York programs list (it’s alphabetical).

Is there going to be a PA program at COSI/CUNY on the Staten Island campus in 2012/13?

I’m sorry, Dan – I don’t do predictions. I just work from the ARC-PA published information. If I had heard anything I would share it, but I haven’t. If you find out, please let us know!

    Hi Paul,
As always – extreamly grateful ;)
    Just FYI (and everybody there)
There are few Education/$ wise options
Maybe you can add shortcuts of SUNY/CUNY into long names of schools already listed
4 SUNY schools (Masters degree) – State University of New York
    - Albany
    - Downstate
    - Upstate
    - Stony Brook
2 CUNY schools (Bechallor degree) – City University of New York
    - York College
    - City College

I’m so happy for you – congratulation on big hunting. Thank you for all the tiny and huge pieces of the advice. They are priceless.
Whenever I think about my school, I always visualize study group getting ready for exams. This is the added dream to the PA program about meeting ppl like you, Sundance and many other Nameless but no meaningless. I got acceptance letter to the second BS Accelerated RN program at Cleveland State University but still trying to take the very last minute GRE exam to see where it leads to. Until 2 months ago I’ve never heard about the PA ;) so this is why I am on the

Can you please deliberate during 5 spare min about chances for job hunting / income with PA BS vs MS. Have you heard about hiring with BS degree only?

Best luck at your new battlefield
    Monika

Hi I’m trying to apply for pa programs but I don’t have my bachelors degree yet… Which school in New York don’t need a bachelors degree to apply… Btw I have all my prerequisites for all these school… I really need help because I’m lost and don’t want to search every single school… :(

This is actually a simple question. Programs that do not require a bachelors are the non-graduate programs. So if there is an “M” under degrees awarded, you get a masters degree there, and therefore need a bachelor’s degree. If it says “B,” you get a bachelor’s degree there, which means you would then need to go to a program with an “M” to get license eligible. Programs with a “C” for certificate (not C and M both) lead to a certificate, and in most cases will not require a bachelors. In New York, I think there are none such schools, but take a look. Call if you are unsure.

My advice: get your bachelor’s degree – it will give you more options.

    Hi Paul …
I’m trying to get into a PA program but I’m lost. I will have my degree on liberal arts on science but I do know that cuny college have tipps website to see what courses are equivalent but I’m trying to apply to St. John’s University and what they told me is just to apply that they will go over my application how do I know which clases are fine to me to take and will have credit once I submit my application. I don’t want to lose more time
    Thank you

      1) go through the information given to you by each school you are applying to.

      2) if they require a course you have not taken, look through your transcript for what you have taken that MIGHT fulfill the requirement.

      3) Call that school and ask them if what you took will satisfy their admissions requirements.

      4) If it won’t, you’re a little stuck. This happened to me and I had to retake physiology. At my school, the only physiology class was COMPARATIVE physiology, which included animal physio. But UC Davis wanted HUMAN physio. I tried to convince them that it was equivalent and it took them about a week to get back to me saying basically “Sorry.” So I went to a community college and took HUMAN physiology. And was glad I did – it really prepared me well for PA school!

      5) Sometimes you can’t please everyone no matter what you do. If this happens, let it go – it’s out of your control.

I hope that answers your question.

Hey im currently at a community college now, taking some basic classes( intro to stat, soc101,psy101, some electives etc.) I will have 24 credits by this may. ( but I haven’t taking a science class yet). Do you think I should just transfer to a 4 year school (that has a PA program) and finish up my prerequisites there get an even stronger gpa, then apply to that schools PA program?

    Thank you

I don’t think it matters much where you do your coursework. But I highly recommend that you get your bachelor’s degree, which is becoming a functional minimum for people who want to become PAs.
