I’m writing you in between our usual postings because the American Academy of Physician Assistants needs your help.  They’ve recently asked the public for suggestions for the “Physician Assistant Meme,” and it’s a great chance to get involved in PA medicine in a fun/easy/helpful way. What is a meme?  It’s an internet phenomenon that started as a way to make fun of others, but it’s become a pretty mainstream kind of publicity, and as you know, the Physician Assistant Profession needs publicity.  Memes like the AAPA’s use a picture with text that riffs on the picture, often making a highly exaggerated claim, and often using the language of someone who is trying way too hard to be cool.   The AAPA’s version is at the right, but they want your ideas.  Can you come up with better text for it?  If we come up with something good, I may make some PA meme T-Shirts, just for fun. I’ve submitted a few of my own suggestions (for example, “PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS: PROVIDING GREAT HEALTH CARE SINCE SMOKING WAS STILL GOOD FOR YOU”), and you can click the image to be taken to the meme’s facebook page where you can read the others and submit your own.  If you visit their page, please drop a link to us so they know that we helped you get there.  Just copy and paste http://www.mypatraining.com to your submission.  Or, if you prefer, you can leave your ideas here in a comment.  I should add that people love to make memes of memes, and there is the potential for a meme to be created that makes fun of PAs or the PA meme, but we’re big enough for that, and it’s all in good fun…
